Mastodon is to twitter as lemmy is to reddit. Thanks to the way the fediverse works, though, most mastodon posts are visible from lemmy and vice versa. They're just text posts with replies; the formatting and the way voting works may be different, but ultimately it's all being broadcasted the same way.
So you would find a mastodon instance to sign up to, then visit the profile you want to follow. So the url should look something like instance.com/@username@otherinstance.net

Can you access the user's profile through mastodon? If so, you could just follow them there. Unfortunate that it isn't a function on lemmy or piefed though
If you're gonna bot post the same thing over and over you could at least make sure it's only to relevant subs
