sorry for the late response - neurofunk is a subgenre of drum & bass, I'm not sure where the "funk" part comes from but the "neuro" part is definitely how it makes your brain react when you hear it. its very synth-heavy, dark, fast, bassy music. if you arent into d&b at all it will probably just sound like a hot mess, but to some it's very good at getting you up and going/concentrating/energised =]
your explanation brought to mind the design ideals behind the RISC (reduced instruction set computer) CPU architecture. Less complexity means higher throughput.
