what I really meant is that it's quite a bullshit. Stalinist repressions affected a wide range of nationalities and likely total around a million. this includes dekulakization which was pretty much a necessity given the economic circumstances. the number of Ukrainians affected is unlikely to be in millions (I also don't think it's morally right to isolate a single nation, since they were all a single country).
I think often the people mix up the # of deaths during the famine with Stalin's repressions, which is quite a stretch, since the former was really hard to avoid given the damages done during the civil war.
Unfortunately, during the info war, propaganda flows both ways. There were deportations in Stalin era (not just by the Soviets, but also Polish, Germans, Turks, Greeks etc), but calling it an ethnic cleansing when just a few years prior an actual ethnic cleansing of Jews was taking place, is kind of a stretch. This particular photo is probably from the population exchange between the Polish and the Soviet Ukraine.
I saw other numbers closer to 20-40k (meduza i think), was just curious if MOD says how the estimate was done. Unfortunately during war MODs of either party are most likely exaggerating the numbers (understandably).

I hate the smell of freshly sliced bell peppers. I can’t really explain it. It just smells so wrong for a vegetable.

Oh wow. 200k dead seems a bit exaggerated. Do they have a source on how this estimate is done?
