Is this really the first time we've seen that? I seem to remember seeing an image like that in a magazine in the 90s. The checkerboard floor was memorable and made it clear it was a demo mode that didn't make it into the final game.

This is way worse than Chromebooks. Chromebooks are focused on the web browser, but all the software still runs locally. The article describes the Windows in a cloud thing like you're constantly connecting to a remote desktop session. Chromebooks can work offline. As this is being described, you couldn't.
