The amount of prairies and grasslands destroyed for agriculture, golf, and lawns is also more horrifying than the water usage. Absolutely! I'm a part of a couple different cycling groups, one of which actively lobbies and is the reason our city is actually changing for the better. We're also super behind on our canopy coverage, and topographically I'm surrounded by rivers which increase the humidity. So, when it's hot, it's very hot.
It's one of those things that my grown children will be able to enjoy, but it's shameful it's taking this long. I just wish progress was quicker.

You are correct in that, BIOHAZARD refers to the end game with Umbrella.
Man, I'd love to take my kids around town on my bike, but drivers here regularly go off the road and hit cyclists. I just don't know if I'd feel comfortable taking my kids out, unless I was in a protected bike lane. It takes about twenty minutes to get to the park and I have to cross several streets, one of which is six lanes across. And I live in the city. Our city is investing in more cycling infrastructure and greenways, but right now, I just can't. Not to mention when it's over 40°C and 80% humidity, by the time I get to the park, it's time to go home, unless I'm driving. It's just a super complicated situation, I'm in. I do welcome any and all advice!
somebody better tell Oklo then. they're spending almost 2B to build one in Oak Ridge lol. also, that 97% comes with a LOT of caveats. regardless, nuclear is such a great base load for the US, and we need to focus on grid supplementation to ease base load operations, anyway.

Plastic pollution is signicantly worse than aluminium. Especially, considering how aluminium is infinitely recyclable. PET plastics can only be recycled a few times. In addition, the shredding of plastics is a huge contributor to microplastics. Not only that, but a large portion of plastic for recycling gets shipped across the world to practically sit in a landfill. I will never, ever be on board with plastics.
Even with aluminium, it's Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Recycling is the last step. Plastics are our biggest offender and we need to reduce it to zero for single use plastics.
Same! When I looked up the salary of farmers in Denmark, I was astonished. Such a glaring difference. I hope all of our situations get better in their respective regards. I hope you have a fantastic...evening? I think midnight, maybe?
Firstly, let me say thank you for such a thoughtful response. Second, I had no idea farming in Denmark was so lucrative. In America, they are poor, usually on government assistance, and strong armed by a corporation for quotas, or certain agricultural practices. E.g. One of my friends cannot let it get out that they have been working on a pest resistant crop for a certain area, because the "start" was a seed that is the IP of some corporation.
A lot of the farmers I know in America hate the pesticide and fertilizer industry. My friend has tried sustainable growth and natural pest deterrents and was sent a cease and desist, because they used some land for crops to do it. Even though their yield was, I believe, equal to previous years.
The farmers I know, and that they know, for into it for the love of it, but they have just been consistently screwed on all fronts by Congress and corporations.

I'm sorry that you have had such poor experience with farmers. The ones I know are lovely people. But even still, would it not benefit us to instead wish only the best for farmers and advocate for them, even if they are ignorant and hateful? Would that not still be of great benefit to the countless innocents involved with the lives of these farmers? If they see people care about them, how could they ever believe the lies that they are hated?
