There is actually a good chance that in the future 10-20+ years they will be lower in resale value when adjusted for inflation. Just because there is a hot market for something right now does not mean there will be in the future.
Why not reconfigure cron not to send the unwanted messages?
That's why I use lftp for cli sftp. For most operations it is much faster. Especially when you want to use regex to select files.
