Yes! There are quieter blenders out there. Regular blenders use universal motors which are cheap and powerful but also very loud. Think of vacuum cleaners, where the cheap ones are loud and the expensive ones are quite a bit quieter, e.g., Dyson, Miele. Brushless DC motors are powerful and simple but require complicated and expensive electronics to control them.
Blendtec and Vitamix are the best known blenders that use brushless DC motors. Nowadays there are lots of others. Vitamix makes a higher end version of their blender that provides a sound deadening enclosure for the whole thing, complete with thick rubber gaskets. It’s pretty effective and costs about 2000.
Yeah DC Rainmaker’s video was filled with evidence that Garmin did heat maps first and Strava’s patent application came well after, long enough after that either Strava wasn’t first or, if they were first they failed to file within the de facto one year grace period. And given that Strava has let another decade go by before filing suit there’s no way a judge will be sympathetic to Strava pleading that there were special circumstances that led to the application being unusually late.
Really? It’s my favourite among the Moss Berry Farm jams I’ve tried. I like a good tart black currant jam and this is the only one that’s readily available locally.
I have had better luck with SmartWool than with Darn Tough. My Darn Tough socks have developed pills. Both brands have dropped in quality over the past decade.
