I don't hate windows as much as a normal linux user would tell you, but linux is honestly pretty nice. At least the very popular distros that "just work" with most software you'd need. Obviously if you need something that's windows only then you're SOL
is there a video on youtube explaining how lemmy works? I've heard of instances before and I'm sure you could just explain it in a comment but it would be nice to just see a video going over the UI and where reddit equivalents for stuff are
I can't wait for digg to finally come out, I hope it becomes basically a better, private, version of reddit, but you know, good. Lemmy is good too for now but I'm not exactly a huge fan of the UI, and not enough people are moving over yet. Again, probably cuz the UI is a little hard to figure out the first time.
digg could not be coming back at a better time. I honestly hope that it's basically just reddit but with a better UI and not as many shitty rules. Going public ruined that fucking website and I always knew it the moment they started charging an obscene amount of money to use their API
I absolutely agree that honestly most people on reddit are toxic, but I would extend that to twitter/x as well. What I think part of the problem is that they're probably normalish people in real life, and let out some of their frustrations from real life they turn into literal trolls (not just the internet slang). I don't know what to do with that information other than interactions on reddit and x are a lot less meaningful than one would assume since it's all mainly fabricated ragebait
yeah lesson learned don't reply with the new accounts until the ban is over on the old one, well all those accounts have perma bans on that sub now anyway so I'll just have to make another one with a new email after the suspensions are over
yeah the way replies to comments are displayed is a little funny, and it's not very intuitive trying to find new posts, I set it to filter by new and it'll have a 7 month old post at the top, and a 3 day old post right under it and shit
as opposed to what? can't exactly say we should use something else if the government is intent on firing everyone that isn't actively engaging in the tariff war
I have an account with like 130k karma in only a year with no post or comment karma farming, just pure gains, and I got banned for a stupid reason from a sub, so I tried ban evading and got every account suspended for a week from any kind of engagement. Username very relevant, I fucking hate reddit man. Gotta support literally any site that isn't reddit to get some kind of competition
