The opening half was very unnerving. However our D really shut down Mills in the 2nd half.
I was very impressed with Ceresna's 3 sacks and the offense looked good. Not great, but good. Lots of room to improve but a very solid CFL game was had.
Looking forward to week 2 and the home opener.
Interested to see how they work Elgersma into the offense (if at all).
Dissenting view, I absolutely loved the books. Couldn't stand the show.
I thought the first season was just OK, but after that it just went off the rails for me. The combining of different narratives from different books, the combining of characters and some of the casting choices just irked me.
Some of the casting was great (Avasarala being the best casting choice IMHO) but others were awful, such as Naomi (again, IMHO).
I'm glad others liked it, and I know I'm in the very small minority, but that's OK.
I still have the books to go back to and re-read for a 4th and 5th time of I want!
I was an Adam Bighill fan when I lived in BC. Then when I moved to Winnipeg I was lucky to be an Adam Bighill fan here too!!
I got to see all of his Grey Cup victories and so happy he retired as a Blue Bomber.
Really hope he can stay with the club in some capacity down the line. I think with his locker room presence and his commitment to the community, he would be a great addition to the coaching staff.
The Bombers are 100% a .500 football team this year.
Moments of brilliance capped off by utterly embarrassing football.
I know both our offensive and defensive coordinators are new, but my god... pick a playbook. I don't understand how you can absolutely obliterate the #1 team in the East one week and then embarrass yourself against the last team in the West the next.
The hopes of seeing Team Blue in the Grey Cup are fading fast. And I was so stoked for my first Grey Cup this year in our hometown.
My only hope now is that the Riders get knocked out on the playoffs. I don't think I can stomach watching them win the Grey Cup on our field.
Seems like everyone under the sun has no praise for the Bombers this year. All the broadcasters and analysts talk about in the West is SK being 4-0 and how poorly all the other teams are doing.
Very little talk about the Bombers generally speaking. I find most coverage of team Blue is a footnote at best.
Eh, that's fine I guess. People thought we were dead last year after our 0-4 start, yet somehow we "surprised" everyone by storming back and taking #1 in the West and going to the Grey Cup for a 5th consecutive time.
Lots of games to go in the season and with the Grey Cup being in Winnipeg, I'm not going to be surprised when we make it 6 consecutive appearances and a championship win on home turf.
What about the outstanding running game from Peterson?
Felt like that guy came outta nowhere! Was really upset that Olivera went down so early but pleasantly surprised at the depth of the Bombers offense. Hope we can keep this momentum into the next week @ Edmonton!
I would agree with the parity comment. I think there is a lot to look forward to across the entirety of the league this year as far as talent goes. IMHO I don't think that any one team is a sure pick to win it all at this juncture. That being said, all it takes (for any team) is a key injury to really derail a season.
Both Ottawa and the Riders looked good last night.
Looking forward to more football tonight and tomorrow. Really interested to see what happens in Edmonton this year. I think I'm most excited to see what VA does in Calgary against BC. That looks like a good rivalry game for sure.
We really need that 10th team so we can get rid of this first week bye nonsense.
But the Blue being on the bye week didn't stop me from putting my Bombers jersey on and watching Ottawa and the Riders battle it out.
Riders looked shaky to start but seemed to collect themselves throughout the rest of the game. Sucks for them that Oulette went out so early... but good for us Bombers fans!
Thanks for the post. You're right, even though it's Winnipeg based, I felt their analysis was pretty unbiased.
Going to be an interesting season all around the league. Hoping the Bombers have the added drive off hosting the Grey Cup this year to make that extra push and get into that championship game at home.

Yet somehow RDS gets out of this unscathed and retains all broadcasting rights?
Sounds exciting.
Not going to lie though... the fact that it's an American investor kinda annoys me.
There are plenty of Canadian billionaires and financial companies. Why don't they want to invest in our game?
Especially in this environment where we're really trying to bring our national identity to the fore.
What better way than investing in the growth/expansion of our game?
Perfect opportunity then to finally add that 10th team.
Bring in the Schooners!!!
I have a very difficult time believing the people of Halifax wouldn't be able to sustain a CFL team.
Toronto barely gets 15,000 fans out for each game. Halifax and the surrounding areas could easily do that.
So happy for this guy.

He beat Kirk so bad, he beat him twice...

Super easy today. Crazy how some days I have absolutely no clue and others it just immediately 'clicks'

I just read the email that the CFL sent out.
I'm totally shocked.
The rule change, goal post move and end zone change are all 'meh' changes.
But changing the length of the field?? That's absolutely crazy. That's one of the biggest ways that makes the CFL our game vs the NFL.
I truly hope that there's a huge pushback against that from the teams and fans.
Half + half + half....

I am totally neutral and not biased at all. /s
