Still an enrapturing series. I love Abercrombie's writing style and Steven Pacey is the best audiobook narrator I have ever listened to. Give The Devils a go if you haven't read it yet—it's the same gritty fantasy as the First Law but adds some much appreciated humor and levity into the mix!
Glad this is the case but god DAMN if it isn't sickening and so stupid that people have to crowd fund life saving medical procedures. Completely embarrassing for this country.
I'd like to propose another immigration reform bill: the CHIP ROY Act. The bill would allow us to deport, denaturalize, and deny US citizenship to Christian Hypocrites, Islamophobes, Pedophiles, and Racist Old Yokels.
I'm giving "explicit notice" for the entire judicial system to EAT MY ASS. Fucking do something already. This continual warning bullshit has worked wonders so far. FUCK.

My wife and I take near daily walks through our neighborhood. One day we decided on a whim to take a couple bags with us and pick up trash as we walked. Ended up turning into an impromptu competition and we were laughing our asses off by the time we finished the 1.5 mile loop and got back to our house. We dumped about four bag loads of litter in our garbage can, and now we do it once every few times we walk. We couldn't believe how nice it was just to walk around and not see litter for once! Just an idea :)
My brother in Christ, you are confusing Richard Nixon with Ronald Reagan. Nixon resigned. Reagan was wildly popular while implementing policies that have fucked over America for nearly half a decade now.

I'm happy to report that I've nearly filled out my card (I have two blank squares left). Admittedly I've interpreted some of the criteria pretty loosely, but doing the card has really helped inspire me to read! I've finished more books this year than I think I have read in the past five years combined, so I'm very grateful!
It helped that I became obsessed with the Red Rising series. :D
Flying is so bad now if you don't book a flight at the ass crack of dawn you're basically guaranteed to get delayed so I always bite the bullet and book as early as possible!
I just finished Dark Age from the Red Rising series. Started on the Light Bringer audiobook this morning while working! I haven't been this into a series in a long time so I've been blazing through it, though Dark Age was a bit of a slog for me so I'm hoping book six will pick up in pace a bit.
I also started The Colour of Magic last night to give myself a lighthearted option in between the heavier series. I've read more books this year I think than I ever have before thanks to the Book Bingo challenge keeping me motivated! :D
Completely agree that curating that type of collective knowledge has a huge barrier to entry. I do love the historymemes community! I suppose what I would really like to see in the meantime is a more serious discussion-based history community. Even if we don't have the type of base for credentialed contributors, it would be cool to have somewhere that people could discuss those types of in-depth topics with an assumed higher level of academic rigor built in.
