For DNS I use Pi-hole with Unbound which is used to contact the DNS root servers directly and recursively find IP-addresses. The first lookup becomes a little bit slower than through say Google but the IP is then cached locally and then it actually becomes faster. This is also more private since it doesn't require a third-party DNS resolver.
I would go with SimpleX instead of Signal since it is very secure and you can self-host the server. There are no user IDs. Here is the official website: https://simplex.chat/
I know but what I meant is having the Android compatibility layer integrated into the OS itself so that Android apps are available directly in postmarketOS, like they are in SailfishOS. Waydroid is cumbersome since you have to launch that first to then be able to open the app you want.
It's unfortunate that it isn't open source. Their AppSupport feature looks so great though. Hopefully it's possible to do something similar in postmarketOS.
I think kSuite is great! I considered Proton and even tested it but their drive did not work well at all, at least if you have a lot of files (I have like 14,000 pictures and videos). It took me three full days to upload everything and then it became painfully slow and unusable. Proton is also way overpriced. Yes, Infomaniak emails and kDrive have encryption too, see:
