Living in NZ and therefore having never seen fireflies, they sound pretty bloody impressive to me. Maybe even some form of magic

We do have glowworms though. If you live near the right cave. They're cool as

Have never had any interest in playing multiplayer games, (except coop with actual IRL friends, which is obviously amazing)

Why would anyone want to play against strangers on the internet? Sounds just really stressful. No thanks

Everything on this list is still being taught to my kids (NZ). Phonics is still the best way to teach reading. Every new stupid fad dies out and they come back to phonics.

I'm pretty surprised they're learning cursive though. Wtf

It doesn't seem smarter than Opus 4.8 to me. It might be better at longer un-aided runs I think. But it uses up usage credits so fast it's not really useful for that either.

So I'm with OP, I don't use it and don't understand the hype.

I don't really get it. Every time I've reluctantly used Discord, I've gotten absolutely lost in UI. And I don't know what's wrong with just using Steam calls (for games) which works great tbh.

But the really annoying thing about Discord is when open source communities use it. Open source projects have no business using closed platforms like this, where I can't even browse the discussions without signing up, and you can't find bug reports by search engine. Just use some open discussion forum software. GitHub discussions is fine...

On iOS it might be though, because there's no revanced and browsers can't have plugins so the only way to adblock is to use a browser that bakes it in.

This means (afaik) Brave, DuckDuckGo or Opera. IME adblocking for youtube specifically is patchy with Opera, can't speak for DuckDuckGo.

Or just don't use iOS. I don't much but we have an iPad for occasional use
