It was difficult, haha. If I could, I would have walked out with every single one of the cats. She just spoke to me. Literally. When I walked into the cat room, she took one look at me and wouldn't stop meowing. I spoke to the front desk about adopting her and found out that she was a stray that was caught the day prior and that I'd have to wait two weeks until she could come home with me. I decided to wait and came back two weeks later to take her to her forever home.

Can we not objectify and degrade women for how they look? Good gosh.

I've had photos taken and spread around right-wing circles with hundreds or thousands of comments telling me to end myself, editing me to look more masculine, or graphically detailing how they'd like to fuck me. It had a pretty big impact on my mental health.

Let's be kind.

Le Guin is phenomenal. Her acceptance speech at the 65th National Book Awards makes me tear up to this day.

"Hard times are coming, when we’ll be wanting the voices of writers who can see alternatives to how we live now, can see through our fear-stricken society and its obsessive technologies to other ways of being, and even imagine real grounds for hope. We’ll need writers who can remember freedom — poets, visionaries — realists of a larger reality."

Edit: Here's the full speech if anyone is interested in listening to it. It's only six minutes and well-worth it.
