the goodreads app is absolute garbage. It hasn't been updated in years. This might be what motivates me to check out some of the other apps mentioned in this post
There is a LosAngeles community on here, but I'm really hoping there is a daily thread. /r/LosAngeles has a daily thread that, at its height, would have several hundred comments a day. It was a huge source of respite during the pandemic for myself and many others
Not necessarily. Two of my best friends were heavy smokers for 20 years. They were mindful to always do it outside, away from the doors/windows when they were over. They didn't need lecturing from me. They knew. They hated it. When they had their first kid they finally quit. I asked one of them what was it, and he said, "I finally found something I wanted more."

Man, Chantry Flats just can't catch a break. First the Bobcat Fire. Then the floods. Luckily this looks like a small fire they'll knock out quickly
