VC won't give you the time of day if you lack a product or platform. This isnt go-fund-me or r/wsb. VC appear to bet big but are frequently pretty well informed and diversified. Their big bets aren't much from their prospective... and frequently will be the first to squeeze "their due" from a failing venture.
I dont see how Elon makes a good example for this. If anything it supports what I said:
Elon is wealthy. He has a platform. He has shit he's bought and is reselling snake oil from those things. He's not poofing something from nothing.
Care to tell me where that gullible userbase is coming from? Pray, tell - what do they come for?
Before that is even a factor you must either be first - with research and development ... and manufacturing... and distribution... or better. Or cheaper! Or able to undercut the competition.
Of the things mentioned... I seem to be struggling to find the element lacking a substantial financial investment.
You seem to be mistakenly conflating getting rich with increasing wealth. Just about nobody gets rich. Many people leverage their existing wealth to gain more. Frequently, that exchange is the start of what is now defined as enshitification.
Everyone cannot do it. Fundamentally its easy: Have money and pick something to middleman. Waste capital until you 'disrupt' that flow. ????. Maybe profit. Who the fuck cares? You got yours. Repeat.
Simple: have wealth. Easy.
Step one is have money to make money. Aside from being the result of two wealthy people fucking... care to detail how so many people are checking that box?
Certainly - there ARE paths to wealth... but they are rare, risk heavy, and frequently are destined to be prey to a resource rich competitor.
Not a woman but incase anyone needs to hear this: if you are using an app - assume that data to be very public and being used by exactly who you wouldn't want to see it.
The two are tightly intertwined. Money is a powerful force multiplier. People are fundamentally still the same as we were 1000s of years ago. The same instincts that served us well then are our greatest weakness today.
When looking at relatively new and abstract societal expectations now... its not particularly shocking that the norm tends to be weighted towards short sighted individualism. We're just wired that way. I'm not excusing it: ita humanities greatest flaw. We just need to acknowledge these flaws and plan accordingly.
I imagine the feat itself is possible and plausible - though I couldn't speculate further without digging into the specifics.
What left me feeling wary was, at least in the US, theres been a massive push to limit the spread and use of renewables... and normally when sowing fear and doubt you generally want to tie in your preferred boogie man. Presently that would be China.
Misinformation campaigns and astro turfing frequently will rely on half truths as it is FAR easier to sow dissent in a community. A half truth becomes opinion - an easily disproven lie can backfire and unify communities.
Tons of Chinese equipment is exploitable. Most of the time its simply a product of "cheap, fast, stable/secure" pick 2. I promise you it won't be the thing that costs time and money.
I won't speculate further on something I noticed in passing but... very frequently the third play in the trifecta is to accuse your boogie man of something that you are doing as well. It weakens the opposing observation, true or not, by increasing difficulty in finding data (similar search terms... two different parties) and lizard brain "feels" like your arguement is weaker because its copying the opposition.
Either way - I'd hesitate to take an organization seriously if they fucked up their own.distribution platform that badly and didnt IMMEDIATELY fix it. Either they are inept or unaware... and unaware implies lack of traffic who might @ a dev.
It read like it was laser focused on pushing an idea while ignoring too many obvious parallels. The fact that the site is basically all facade - no function ... kind of provides a physical representation of this entire movement. Its practically modern art.
That said - it really does drive home how this virtual snake oil is literally sending us in the wrong direction.
I mentioned this a moment ago as a different reply but your observations are all examples of a feedback loop perpetuating itself. Its certainly correctable. This isnt the first time it happened nor will it be the last. Its a product of some of the uglier parts of the human condition.
Absolute power corrupts - and those in power will not only seek to keep that power bit increase it. They consolidate it. Less people with power: less opposition. But this has diminishing returns... and has reset trap baked in. How? Numbers. Power moves people. As you concentrate power - you have less people to move and more people opposing that movement.
1 billionaire, 8 billion people. What do you do to maintain that power? Surveillance. Draconian rules. Control the narrative and paint yourself as necessary. The power dynamic is reaching a tipping point. Unrelated: I recall there seems to be an uptick in bunkers being built by the ultra wealthy. Puzzling.
Sound familiar? It should. History is littered with example after example.
The system breaks in the same way - every time. These aren't deitites - they aren't special. They are just another meat bag running on 80% lizard-brain firmware that is purely focused on ITS survival alone. In the end these twats engineer their own destruction. Now, while the all for one trait certainly is consistent in its consolidation of power: it still consistently maintains its loss record to the group. I'd like to think of that as an immune response to a foreign entity. In a weird way that sorta gives me hope.
Money and value are interesting topics. Many of the oddities surrounding expense vs need exist as a result of scales being unfairly influenced. Billionaires aren't the root of the problem - they are the symptom of the problem. If billionaires didnt exist: that would likely be because wages, costs, and services are more fairly balanced. Less disparity - less resources to leverage to create it... and likely a much higher cost to apply that leverage. We are simply in a feedback loop in a sick system. Cancer doesn't just go away with thoughts and prayers.
Woof. I wasn't aware apple intelligence was that bad.
Not even the hardest apple fanboy would go as far as you just went.
... Idea Place that you under that trenchcoat?
Just kidding... Even they pirated.
Don't you even put that out there.

If you really hate someone...
Third generation curse.
I personally believe the cybertruck was a designer who was making fun of musk. He submitted a pinewood derby car he made when he was 7.
Its the literal emperors new clothes.
Finally deleted she who shall not be named from my address book.
Do I win?
I'm hearing 'once you have money do.....'

This was obviously a warning. Had Salem actually been serious they'd have brought kindling and torches.
Funnily enough, the image "painted" actually reminded me of some older art done by Matt Page... specifically:

A bit old but it immediately reminded me of it.
You're ready king.

While yes, my napkin math may have simplified things to produce a workable ish value:
The numbers purpose was to provide perspective - which I feel worked reasonably well.
