Not everyone can spend the big money for cons, some will grab what is the most affordable. Hopefully that means a local shop without that wrap, but someone reading any way they can is the most important start.

The rest of the world doesn't expect or what someone interrupting their experience every 5 minutes, but we know we can signal them when we need something.

Shop local when you can. Online is narrowing a market and once there's only one place to buy they can control the price.
When it comes to books pay the author if you can, publisher second if you have to, and online retailer last.
