I went most of my life not knowing there were more beans than the ones in the grocery store. Check out this bean shop: https://www.ranchogordo.com/collections/heirloom-beans For some pretty great beans that you might find locally, I would crown cranberry bean as king.

wow nice! thanks for the link. some of those are new to me. free shipping for orders over $50 is a pretty good deal as well - might have to get a few lbs of some of the more obscure ones.

I like to mix it up as well so this link is great thank you!

Sean Bean has played a couple kings.

Oh yeah love that particular bean.

Pinto.

Garbanzo hands down. I slap those badboys into an air fryer on 400 for 25 min with a bit of cooking spray, toss on some seasoning and BAM, a snack that gives me my salty food fix and mildly annoys my family. What else could you want?

Deltoids@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 3y

I do that on a pan sometimes but didn't think about using the air fryer lol. Probably should do that

Fava beans with a nice Chianti, of course…

Do black eyed peas count? Because damn, that's good eating.

Otherwise, I'm a pinto guy.

It definitely depends on the meal.

Chili? Kidney, pinto, and black are good.

Mexican dish? Black or refried.

Mediterranean? Black.

Barbecue? Baked beans.

man I dunno, I like a lot of different ones - like, chickpeas for hummus, or cannellini for italian dishes, or black beans with cuban mojo. even haricot beans with beurre blanc.

havent really run into a type of bean I dont like, thus far.
