Besides lemmy of course
Edit: By community I didn't mean lemmy community. I meant like a fandom for an old or obscure piece of media with still some activity

!raining@sh.itjust.works - used to be fairly active but has been mostly dead for months.
(hmm, should I promote my own communities here?)

Feel free!

I see from the edit this wasn't the intention 🙂
But I'm here now, so my obscure-ish ones !lemmings@lemmings.world !plus4@retrolemmy.com and !teletext@fedia.io I'd like to see more active particularly.

There is a toolbar called the Hypothesis toolbar, it's basically a browser add-on that adds a comment section to any webpage that won't add one itself. It just needs more participants.
droning_in_my_ears@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y
That's interesting. I might try kt out

Tell me when you've signed up, I'll meet up with you on there.

Ok I'm in :D
I don't know. I annotated your comment. Not sure if you get notified.
If it grew big I think it'd be nice.

It’s not super obscure or anything, but I want Vocaloid to get more love. Especially non-Miku voices.
RiderExMachina@lemmy.ml · 4 pts · 2y
I feel like Vocaloid got pretty popular in the early 2010s for a couple years and then everyone moved on.
It might still have a small fanbase in Japan, but interest is nearly non-existant, at least here in the US.

and although not obscure, I wished the communities on feddit.uk had more going on.

Anime manga light novels. I mean come on i was expecting it to be one of the few communities that would blow up here pretty fast alongside linux , pcbulding and software developer communities.

Fountain pens!
l_b_i@yiffit.net · 2 pts · 2y
I had a coworker who was into them and had quite a collection. I still have some Varsitys sitting around from a joke. Not really into them myself, but notebooks marketed for use with them are really nice.
triclops6@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 2y
Yeah those are a great introduction for anyone interested
berryjam@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y
I wish Mou Ippon was popular enough for the English scanlation to get picked up. It's a sports manga about women's judo.
DampCanary@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y
ooh I know that name, I wached that anime.
If you wached it, how does it uphold the manga?
berryjam@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y
I'm more of a manga fan than anime. I watched the first episode and it was very faithful to the manga.
DampCanary@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y
thanks,
wiil take a note
and probabbly pick it up in between seasons
