FresRSS + moRSS for full text and Read You on Android for mobile

brad@toad.work · 4 pts · 3y

You just changed my life with the moRSS suggestion

cinimodev@geddit.social · 4 pts · 3y

Thanks for sharing moRSS. This is rad

Same with FreshRSS - I set it up years ago and basically forgot about maintaining it. It's been running doing exactly what I needed for the whole time. It might not be the best option, but I can't really think of anything more I need.

I'll have to check out moRSS.

I used FreshRSS but switched over to Nextcloud news. Works good for me 😊

TT-RSS is fantastic, providing you hold your nose and wear as asbestos suit if you ever dare ask a question or raise a valid issue. The dev is... well, I'm not a fan. I won't use it out of principle.

FreshRSS is a good-looking and skinnable alternative with a good Docker image, but I had issues with the inability to flush old items. Has a decent web UI.

These days I'm using Sismics and the web UI.

thanks for the hint on Sismics, I'm going to try it!

Tiny tiny Rss (ttrss). I've used it for well over 10 years. New docker install is easy.

oldfart@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 3y (1 reply)

I can't force myself to migrate it to Docker, it's the one remaining service idont't have dockerized yet. The migration path looked like it would take half of a day

Export your feed to an opml file, and import it into the new installation. Your read/unread history will be lost, but that's about it.

Tt-rss though the developer can be a bit abrasive if you go asking for help. Been using it since the icanhaz days.

OP wouldn't have missed it if they had an rss reader

clb92@kbin.social · 7 pts · 3y

Things may have changed in the meantime though, you never know. A lot can happen in 9 hours in the wild and fast-moving industry of RSS readers.

I'm using this as well and it seems pretty good and simple, no fancy things!

FreshRSS, + Readably on Android. Has worked well for me for years.

PlutoniumAcid@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

I can't find Readably in the Play store. Got a link?

bladewdr@infosec.pub · 3 pts · 3y

freshRSS. I'm using the linuxserver.io docker image.

Linuturk@lemmy.onitato.com · 2 pts · 3y

Nextcloud News app.

MomSpaghetti@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 3y (1 reply)

What types of things are you guys monitoring via rss? I've never had a need to use it.

Nickall@lemmy.fmhy.ml · 1 pts · 3y

any site you usually check for news or update. News sites, blogs etc. I like to have a single place where to go and check.

Hcbille@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 3y

I’m using FreshRSS with Reeder 5 as my iOS reader.

Main reason is that I can make feeds of changes on websites etc, things that aren’t an actual RSS feed.

Syncthing+DecSync+spaRSS(DecSync fork)

Tyr3al@feddit.de · 1 pts · 3y

I’ve been running Minifilm for years now. Pretty happy with it.

borlax@lemmy.borlax.com · 1 pts · 3y (2 replies)

Was using moonmoon for a long while but it’s been abandoned for a longer while and I recently switched to FreshRSS. So far so good, it has support for fever api, so I can sync it up to Unread on my iPhone.

HiddenRetro@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 3y (1 reply)

+1 for freshrss

borlax@lemmy.borlax.com · 1 pts · 3y

It has been pretty great. Only downside has been some of the API behavior, but FreshRSS isn’t to blame for that I don’t think.
