Why does the fly dissappear when I pick up the fly swatter?

Like the title says. So annoying.

Don't be a coward, swat them anyway!

I never said I didn't swat them, I intentionally wait for them to land on my face to swat them.

Keep it in your hand all the time!

Because the fly saw you actively moving around and is now going into hiding mode

I bought one of those salt guns before summer and it’s very satisfying to blast them
