The state I currently live, Louisiana, and it seems like blinkers at all is a premium package upgrade. Hell, half the time cops don't even use them around here. The only vehicle I can reliably see use them are out of state 18 wheelers.
Was behind a driver's Ed car once, no kids, the instructor. No blinker used....
My brother once gave me a ride home from work, back before I could drive.
He had a Mercedes. Not only was he drinking beer while driving, he refused to use his indicators/blinkers
When I asked him why he didn't signal to other drivers, he said with a smirk
"They didn't come with this model" and proceeded to finish his can of beer.

Us BMW drivers do use indicators, they’re just at a wavelength that poor people can’t see.

Easy oil exchange pump. You need to stroke it left and right in order to get the old oil out of the tip of the lever.

They usually hire specially educated women

Yes, I've also heard that women are usually much better at this job.

All these "Sporty" cars bros do this. Just entitled bitches that want to hurt people.

Why all the hate for BMW drivers? Pickup owners should also be in this meme.

The meme involving pickup drivers is that they're lacking downstairs.

Not so many pickup drivers in the rest of the world compared to the US. Plenty of BMWs though

Come on down to Glendale, CA. You will understand.

You can't expect people to stop being tribal.

I wish that problem was confined to BMW, it's common enough to happen even with popular car drivers 'round these parts.

In my experience Audi drivers are the worst. Whenever I see an idiot on the road there's always an Audi driver trying to out-idiot them right behind.

I know a guy like this. He's a great guy, very competent, gives up his time for his community. Drives his Audi like a cunt though.

There must be a whole bunch of “temporarily embarrassed” BMW owners, then…

I tried sliding the control rod in and out of the steering column, but nothing happened. I think it's stuck.

I actually did that when I was a kid trying to understand those mysterious car sticks my dad slapped with incredible confidence while driving.

I resently switched from Toyota to Volkswagen. My signaling lowered by about 30%.
Here and there I just notice that I did it again.

I'd like to think that this is because BMW drivers are Orcs.

No he works on a billionaire's yacht as an engineer. Maybe some day though lol
drathvedro@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 2y
Do yachts have blinkers though?
FrankTheHealer@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y
They don't. But if they did, I doubt they'd see much use
drathvedro@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 2y
I checked, and it seems like they use horn signaling instead
I'll should start using those on my BMW...

Italy doesn't count. They have... Their own way of doing things.

It is kind of confusing how you press down to signal left and up to signal right
SteveTech@programming.dev · 11 pts · 2y
It aligns with the way you turn the wheel, so it's not confusing at all.
Cornucopiaofplenty@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 2y
Maybe for five seconds if you don't know the concept of an indicator
zeppo@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 2y
That's what I mean. If you had no idea how the level worked, looking at that, one might think it slides in and out.
