I made a bookmark for my mom for her bday. I made lots of adjustments to colors and I messed up the count in one spot but I feel like you can't tell.

I've been working on a bookmark myself, how do you do the finishing along the sides? It looks like it's just backstitching vertically and horizontally? Is it really just as easy as that?
