Been like that since the Void first released, as far as I remember. Death Orbs are those spinning laser and ground stumping orbs BTW. It's kinda nice when speed running Hepit with a Titania Prime, keeps your energy topped off.

Yep, though there is no real fanfare other then the indicator at the bottom showing 250 energy orb was collected

The orb does give a little visual pulse and sound effect but it's very subtle and easy to miss unless you're looking for it.
