Would braiding clay like that do the opposite of giving it strength? Normally braiding works, but pottery is brittle, so I would expect each strand to have more brittle connections.
Probably, you can already see some cracking in the stands. I did make another taller braided cylinder that made it through both bisque and glaze, but I don't like it much, as the braids are much less even than this one.
