fun story...

ive seen Elton John twice. the second time, more than twenty years ago, i was able to present a rose to him on one knee during the encore.

my friends and i were in the front row and had set up a folding chair up against the stage. it was quite a leap to get up there and i immediately ran for the side of his piano. security rushed in on me rapidly but i was already on one knee reaching out with my head down, so Elton shooed them away.

i love Elton John.

I've been around enough decades to know that "final farewell" shows tend to be every once in a while rather than one-time affairs.

Haha I was just going to ask how long this tour has been going on because I'm pretty sure he was here several years ago on a "final farewell" tour.

I saw him in Philadelphia in 2019 on his “Farewell” Tour. He has been doing farewell tours for years.

5 years, yes. Started in 2018 and was supposed to run for two and a half years. But then COVID...
