I had a cat that would do happy feet on you and purr when you were sick or sad. Cats really do love you; I'll never understand people who say they hate them.

Right, my fuzz buddies have helped more through depression and illness than most humans. When they don't feel well they cling to me, and I happily cuddle them all they want.
