This has been a bug since iOS 16 but I figured this would bring some attention to it. To replicate:
- have a smart garage within the home app
- be within your home’s radius
- make sure your CarPlay is set to light mode
[IOS17 DB3] visual bug - the garage icon on CarPlay blends with it’s background making it look white.

Mine is in dark mode but is still terrible looking — not invisible but washed out.
That aside, I will say this feature is fantastic, the garage icon doesn’t appear on the Home Screen until you’re in a decent proximity to your home, but still allows you to use it soon enough that your garage is fully open by the time you pull up the drive!

Mine often looks like the missing icon image when I arrive home and the door is done.
