Great way to give EU a sense of what kind of headaches/obstructions they have in store for them if they don't rework how vetos are handled before allowing new members
That's partly due to Hungary and Poland supporting each other. One country can be handled, but two is a problem. Still, I can understand that a country would hesitate to join if there wasn't some guarantee to block things specific to one country.
Does Turkey honestly think Cyprus will ever let them into the EU before they stop occupying the North? Note: I'm not Cypriot nor in Cyprus, but I spent a lot of time there for work. It makes zero difference what the rest of NATO wants.

Fat chance. The EU already has pocket dictators with Hungary and Poland, no way they let Turkey in and turn it into a clown show.
