FOSS app store for iOS?

Now that Apple has been forced to allow alternative App Stores, are there already similar stores like F-Droid emerging for iOS?

not happening this soon. as Apple is complying by malicious compliance. alternative app stores are bound to some idiotic rules.

I recommend looking into SideStore instead. It’s similar to Alta store but you once you installed the SideStore on your iOS device you can manage the other apps without a computer.

That's a good one! Thanks

EDIT: it does require a computer for initialisation EDIT2: it is a fork from the AltStore project. Very interesting!!

It requires a computer to install the Store app. Then you can renew on your phone and install apps without a computer. It also requires a computer is you go let your alt store app expire.

It's not really the same though. It's reliant on a host PC.

Yep - that's because Apple has not released a stable way to create alternative app stores. Developpers still have to find roundabout ways to offer an alternative store. I am sure they will adapt as soon as they can get a stable stand-alone app working in the apple ecosystem

Not that fast, by Apple's rules a 3rd party store offering what AltStore offers could be banned in no time. Besides the costs.
