But something did not compute. 8,000,000 bats are 3.5t or 3,500,000g? So less than 0.5g per bat?

I found a weight of 250-350g in an article. That would mean total weight between 2,000t and 2,800t.

You’re totally right. I made this early in the morning before coffee, it should be 3,500 tonnes. I’ll fix it.

Why do they migrate to the artificial park?

They go there to feed on fruit. I'm guessing there is a ton of fruit that ripens around that time.
