I used to only have cold water up until a month ago and I'd get confused when those cold shower body builder trent went online but yeah now that i'm getting used to it i can see the difference.
Edit : To avoid confusion i used to live in a place with noderate climate and only recently moved .
Who just got ? I was just talking about me specifically i ised to live somewhere with moderate climate sure in the winter it was cold but not that cold . Now i have moved states and it is kinda really cold here so .
My kitchen sink is really far from my water heater, so I put a 3 gallon electric water heater under the sink. It did the same thing without having to be a new home. Would definitely recommend.
Does the circuit use any water or is it just pumped around and kept heated? Does it use a lot of energy?

Have you considered growing longer arms?

Have you considered manning up a little (in a completely gender neutral way).
Alternatively, use a shower umbrella.

How fucking massive is your shower that you can't simply reach into it and grab the handle?

The door is opposite to the actual unit

Aim the shower at the wall, turn it on, get out

Turn it on in the sink, then it may only take like a second in the shower (if you're lucky with your plumbing layout)

Shower cabin? What?
jaybone@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y
Some people have a cabin in the woods. This guy has a cabin in his shower.

I never heard that before, either, but I suspected it was a British term and it looks like it is.

Why would I be inside the shower before the hot water shows up
I turn on the shower at maximum hot, undress, THEN introduce cold back to a comfy temperature and step inside.

Pro tip:
Always max hot water (or hot water only if separate) to warm up shower fastest and save water. It's a win win.
Turning it 3/4 or something to desired temperature takes longer to heat up and wastes both hot and cold water.

The photo is somewhat deceptive. It's actually angled away from vertical slightly. He's resting on the wall behind him.

Thanks for those details! That sounds like a great system and beats my failsafe of heating a big pot of water on the woodstove
