I always wonder, in the multiverse are these unique? Like are GUIDs unique on other planets?

Maalus@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y (1 reply)

No, there is a very very veeeery tiny chance of them not being unique. But it is so incredibly small, it doesn't matter at all. Unless you f-up the way you generate them, you are fine.

jaybone@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 2y

I’m kind of just joking about why they have a UUID vs a GUID.

Xeroxchasechase@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 2y (4 replies)

They must start with a B

Nah, remembering all the names is way harder. Not to mention distinguishing the individual bees...

emptyother@programming.dev · 2 pts · 2y

Easy, you just name them after whatevers distinguish that bee. Like if the bee only can see on four of his five eyes, you naturally call him Foureye.

otter@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 2y

Less problem coming up withem than it would be remembering them all

AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y

Hiving them little "Hi, my name is..." tags helps a lot.
