I'm a bit confused. is lemmy.world not meant for music? From what I gather lemmy.studio is a different instance which means I have to start a new account to make communities within it?
No, lemmy.world is for any type of community, you don't necessarily need to move it to lemmy.studio , but it will help lemmy.world, since lots of people have been signing up in a short time-frame. You would have to start an account on an instance if you want to create an instance there. It's up to you if you want to change it to another instance or not
It's just that I'd be better if we spreaded communities around between different servers, and that instance, lemmy.studio, was kinda created by a music fan for mostly music-related communities.
You can create an account there and then create communities there, or don't, it doesn't really matter, but it'd be cool to see different instances flourish.
