This looks like a really large scale attack. Not just US Govt but also large corporations. And apparently also including NATO countries.

Senior government officials are racing to limit the impact of what's believed to be a global cyberattack affecting U.S. federal agencies and allies, including NATO member countries.

One cybersecurity expert characterized the breach as one of the largest theft and extortion events in recent history. Victims include Johns Hopkins University, the University of Georgia, the BBC and British Airways.

You know, I keep hearing this, but it's beehaw people coming here and starting arguments. If it's not a problem, then why are people getting annoyed? Beehaw is allowed to defederate if they really think so, but we don't have to pretend like it's a smart decision. And, at the end of the day, it only hurts them more than anyone else.
