Teenage boy threatened with machete at Albany Bus Station in attempt to steal his shoes

How does this keep happening? Taking public transport shouldn't be anywhere near as dangerous as it currently is, this is getting ridiculous.

So it seems there has been a big short term increase in youth crime, 25% up on a year ago, but the same article says youth crime has more than halved over the past decade.

So it's probably in the news more recently because of an uptick.

I agree with you, and I think it's interesting to look at why there is a short term uptick in youth crime.
