As a commander there are a few dozen cards in black that give all creatures -2/-2 for the turn or something similar; turning all of those into 1 sided board wipes with this bird out.
We've come a long way since the beloved Spirit of the Night, this is 4 mana less and has some decent removal built into it. I think Maha is a lot better sadly.

Nah, it's better than that.
Play it post combat and you kill any of oppo's creatures that blocked.
Add on that it either wins the game or is a two for one if oppo answers it right away and this looks to be one of the bombiest of bombs in the set.

I've found Screams from Within does a situational similar thing without having people be prevented from wanting to fill the board.
