Source on the "1973 marathon" bit? According to her Wikipedia page, she was a middle distance runner, and she seemed to have competed in only one race without proper gear (in 1972).

Good catch. Many of these .world posts are Facebook-tier

Dempf@lemmy.zip · 15 pts · 2y (1 reply)

And many .ml posts are 4chan tier.

And many .zip posts are compressed.

Why do you feel that stereotyping Lemmy users according to the instance they signed up to is okay?

Blackmist@feddit.uk · 38 pts · 2y (4 replies)

He's from .ml, that's why.

zero_spelled_with_an_ecks@programming.dev · 12 pts · 2y (3 replies)

That's the one instance I judge people for being from.

Anticorp@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 2y

I think that's fair. I was originally on ML until I figured out what they're all about. Then I deleted my account and came here.

Nythos@sh.itjust.works · 7 pts · 2y (1 reply)

.ml and Hexbear are the only acceptable instances to judge people for being on.

Leate_Wonceslace@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 2y

There's others, but p.much everyone is defederated from those.

southsamurai@sh.itjust.works · 8 pts · 2y

Yeah, it's almost like they have a prejudice against cum farts originating with satan, or something.

Sorry, I know that's not related, but I still get a laugh out of your user name every time I see it.

mholiv@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 2y (10 replies)

I think it’s a reactionary response to people (fairly or not) stereotyping .ml users.

feedum_sneedson@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y (9 replies)

Reactionary is when you react.

mholiv@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y (8 replies)

And I am saying stereotyping .world users as “Facebook” level is a reaction to people stereotyping .ml users.

mecfs@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y (7 replies)

Doesn’t the ML literally stand for Marxist Lenninist? Or am I finding meaning where there is none?

mholiv@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y

It may in context stand for Marxist Leninist. I don’t know. I myself am not a Marxist Leninist nor am I a fan of how Lemmy.ml is run.

You can't judge a place you've never been to, that's what people in Russia do

ASeriesOfPoorChoices@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

are Russians so keen to judge Ukraine? 🤔

Anticorp@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y

Of course they think it's okay to stereotype, they're from .ml!

/Yes that's sarcasm

sub_ubi@lemmy.ml · -7 pts · 2y

Because in this case it's accurate.

Leate_Wonceslace@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 0 pts · 2y (1 reply)

No one forced you to be here.

sub_ubi@lemmy.ml · -2 pts · 2y

sorry to interrupt your poorly researched meme content

PugJesus@lemmy.world · 29 pts · 2y

Yeah, says she was a middle-distance runner here too. Believe OP, or whoever OP got it from, got a bit confused as to the details of a marathon, which are specifically long-distance.

RunawayFixer@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 2y (1 reply)

If you've already looked it up, please share the link (next time) so we don't have to also look it up. I'm not going to look this one up, because I don't really care about it, but I would have clicked the link.

Hector@lemmy.ca · 8 pts · 2y

She has a happy and proud look on her face. Good for her!

Anticorp@lemmy.world · -9 pts · 2y

Mmmm, lies!
