And I want to buy and own individual songs. The latest one was all live footage and "influencery"; and each time you played a song, you had to pay. It was literally the cheapest, greediest, most pandering "Guitar Hero" one could have made.

I'm 36 years old and I would buy a new guitar hero with all the instruments in a heart beat if they camw out with a refresh non corporate greed version.

It's somewhat more complicated to setup but you can try Clone Hero. It's a PC rhythm game very similar to Guitar Hero but only supports guitars (and maybe drums now?). You also have to supply your own songs such is good and bad.

I miss it, too. I don't miss trying to find a place to store the hideous plastic toys in my nice but very small house. I would bet they could make a profit from just releasing the exact same first gen game on modern consoles with slightly updated guitar controllers. The drums and mic don't really need to change.

Nobody. I think it flopped.

I wanted the keytar SO BAD. This is also why I'm desperately holding on to my Rock Band instruments; it's pretty much impossible to find replacements. Which sucks, because my drums are dying.
