My ice cream freezer ready for softball tonight.

I've got it loaded with 8 flavors.

Vanilla

Smarties (Canadian)

Oreo

York Peppermint Pattie

Aztec Chocolate

Skor Bits

Skor Bar

Milk Chocolate Almond Crunch

I hope the kids (and their sibkings and parents and the other team and the umpire) like it.

We have two, actually. I'm just using one today.

Exactly my thoughts!

Are Smarties in Canada the same as the US or are they like British Smarties that are basically just M&Ms?

MapleEngineer@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 2y (3 replies)

They're like M&Ms but with better, milkier chocolate.

MrJameGumb@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y

That sounds awesome! I'll have to try and find some here!

better, milkier chocolate

That is subjective :) My Dad prefers Smarties; my Mom prefers M&Ms.

MapleEngineer@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

Your dad is a wise man.

The latter, they specified in a prior post.

MrJameGumb@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y (3 replies)

That's good. The Smarties here aren't great lol

Pronell@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2y (2 replies)

I actually love Smarties, but in ice cream? Noooo.

MapleEngineer@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2y

We call them Rockets in Canada. I love them but not in ice cream.

MrJameGumb@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y

Someone else must love US Smarties a lot too, they just downvoted all my comments lol imagine getting so upset about Smarties 🤣

Oh my goodness why did I never think of York peppermint patties in ice cream. Oh goodness!

MapleEngineer@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y (1 reply)

It's very nice. I use the mini ones and chop them into about 30 pieces (5 cuts in one direction then turn and 4 cuts in the other.). I use a bunch of icing sugar to keep the pieces from sticking together. The pieces are nice and chewy but melt very quickly in your mouth. You should give it a try.

I'll have to try it once I'm done with the ice cream that's still in my freezer! :D
