I wonder if spiders put webs in front of windows to catch bugs that fly towards the light, or if they put webs all over a building and we only see the ones near the windows?
Thank you for your wonderful and informative comment! I went out back to see if she was still there / look for an egg sack, and snuck another pic. She's quick! Ran up the fence as soon as she saw me!
I am a weird boy. I like letting bugs crawl on me and run from hand to hand.
With the notable exception of the times when those spiders decide that now, after they've been picked up, would be a good time to start spinning a web.
Whenever I run into a spider web, I like to immediately imagine that I just won a race I didn't know I was in. It makes me smile and feel less like I want to jump into a fire.

I'm so glad that spider's living its best life even while being crippled

I'm petty sure, they place webs wherever people walk.
Thanks, glad you liked it.

We had a Garden Spider for one summer on the corner of our porch.
She was so chill and we loved having her around. They often rebuild that beautiful web every night.
She laid a few sacs, but none of her children stuck in our yard, sadly.

Oh... I can't imagine waking into that.
Beautiful picture by the way

We had a spider once that, after someone walked through the web one day, started taking its web down every morning and rebuilding it in the evening.
Edit: I think it was one of these:
