It looks like there was a speech bubble to the right of Everett's in the bottom panel. Can see the left side of the box to the right of his.

These aren't edited, the final panel usually doesn't have text. It's the silent punchline. Mother in law is emoting, wife is crying, everyone else at the table is loving the drama of a bully being set back a little bit.
