Again I could be wrong but I thought that the WD stood for water dispersant which was the original application ( and still very good for that). The all purpose lubricant is not actually a great use for it. Spray silicone like Jig-a-loo is much better.

I read the entire article and it didn't mention Jeffery Rowland and the campaign for "get these motherfuck'n snakes off this motherfuck'n plane" added to the film. Christ they invited the guy to the premiere. Just a generic nod to Something Awful and Ebaum's World. It's funny how focused it was on the Hollywood side and not the meme side of things.

It's interesting to me, I learned an oral history in grad school that's somewhat different from the wiki record. This isn't the first time that it's happened and it's a lesson that history goes to the documentation.

I was told that it's development was tied to looking for suture alternatives and it was abandoned due to inflammation and rough edges on application.

The lesson, for me, is to be cautious about relying on single sources. I am enough of an expert in my areas (and this is not one of them) to be pretty suspicious of Wikipedia.

Average can mean so many things. A lot of people want it to be synonymous with mean as a measure of central tendency, but there's a reason data people use mean. It avoids folk definitions meaning typical or expected. In those senses it can also be synonymous with modal values or an area around the median etc. It's not a precise word.

K. DRI, BCI, and IAEM all have Waffle House resources as case studies etc. WH really is best of breed at keeping things running under difficult circumstances.

This is exactly what judges should do if the company won't clean up their own act. The article is a long whine about muh slippery slope.

An example of the whine to save you a click..

Judges simply shouldn’t be in the business of determining the proper user interface for software. Indeed, I’d deem it to be an example of compelled speech and (in cases of banning certain features) suppression of speech.
