Immich is for hosting your own photos, not for viewing other peoples'. It's an alternative to Google Photos, not Instagram, Flickr, or any other photo sharing service.

If you want federated YouTube/Instagram I think the best equivalents are peertube and pixelfed

I've watched content on peertube. I thought this was kinda like that.....but also pictures.
