That's not the direction most memes are read in. Gru would have been especially confusing. This only really gains traction with things for which the order doesn't really matter

It’s the internet, so right to left top to bottom like manga.
So start in the top big portion, read down the steps, then finish in the big one on the bottom.
Source:I guess I read too much manga in my day because that’s how I read it the first time.
