It depends if it's organic or inorganic, but generally nah you don't want to go huffing it.
It's fairly safe to handle by hand if you've no open cuts but I wouldn't recommend it at all ever.

Pure metallic mercury is actually pretty safe in your bowels too, it doesn’t get absorbed readily, just don’t make a habit of it.
