The reason many of them (a charging brand like anker for example) do this is to get name recognition. If you see their name in 200 sponsors, and a year later you are looking for a charger, you see a familiar name in those 50 brands when you want to buy one, and subconsciously you trust it more than the brands you haven't heard about.

I actually had a crypto miner virus that did this, and was the reason I started noticing it. It was one of those "wait until pc is idle for a long time then start" ones, but the cmd came on at pc startup.

It also doesn't mean you should never try because you "might/will regret it later". Chance of you regretting something you do intentionally over a longer period is lower than spur of the moment decisions people think for example transitioning is.

On the vegan part; you aren't less of a vegan if you accidentally eat meat. The identity is your intention, not your perfection.

Dagger of purification

Can only be used to heal wounds inflicted more than 1 hour ago. Each recent use on the target reduces the effectiveness of the dagger's healing powers.

They could have changed the effect of the spell from being spread to just being blank, but during that time people would kill the now super nerfed boss easily, basically exploiting the fact that it is disabled.

They probably thought that "this will pass, no need to risk players exploiting just because some low levels die a few times", and therefore didn't do that.

There is no easy way to add that location check on to the spell itself, so it would have to be a custom c++ code written for it, which requires way more publishing approval than changing the spell (sql). This would also require downtime for each server to apply the core code changes, and maintenence etc, which they used to have one day a week, and for planned things.

Once they had that code in place though they made pets immune, but too many players had lost a lot of gold in repairs etc, and the rest of the game lacked players due to fear, that rolling back was the easiest way to earn back approval of players.

Spell fixes required a server reset, yes. That was still a thing until Legion or something. Definitely a thing in wotlk client.

A way to remove friction here is robovacs. I have mine to run on a timer so I don't even have to start it myself.

That's how the spells work in wow. The BUFF would get removed if you left the room, but the issue was that pets would get it in the room and resummoned in cities, and since the buff removal thing happened while the pet was desummoned the removal didn't apply.

Doing a check each time the buff spreads is inefficient use of server.

Also, changing anything about the spell requires servers to be shut down, and they didn't want that for each fix attempt until they saw no other way and had roll back the servers.

I've always been like this as well. I forget everything unless I think really hard about it and trace the events step by step.

There's also the autism of not wanting to be observed, so if I am to remember I have to force myself to "observe" myself through asking my own mind what I did. Which might be the reason for the "forgetting" as a way of unconscious protection.

Oh sorry, I miss read it as you couldn't because rogue had some effect that only worked to 20, so you having it would only benefit you slightly until you hit the ceiling of 20 for your rogue mechanic.
