it's basically for pivot builds, like when you go from straights to straight flushes; the problem is that it's only good in the middlegame , and needs to be found early, and needs to be replaced in the endgame.

so basically it sucks

I looked this one up online to figure out what strategy would even work with this joker and there really isn't one.

It could kinda be viable if ties for most common hand worked in your favor, but they don't. The only way I can see getting any value out of it at all is if you go hard on a single hand build for the first half of the run, pick it up at the halfway point and abruptly pivot your whole strategy, I guess?

Yeah, the wiki calls that out, but that puts a lot of risk on changing your strategy mid/late game.

In a run without discards, where you basically use High Card hands to discard cards, it can be pretty good..

Yep. Worked well with the “gain 3 hands lose all discards” joker up to level 11 blinds

But ironically it helped me in my first Balatro wins but after that it never work for me.
