Oh, I know, but I was calling out that the numbers they report downplay the significance of the physical game market.
Also, that doesn't really tell the whole story. We don't know how much people who buy physical still interact with digital goods. Nor do we know how removing digital may shift consumers elsewhere.
Assuming that by removing physical you'll push a majority to buy your digital goods is an assumption, not a guarantee.
For example, I've moved away from consoles because if I'm going to buy it digitally, I might as well buy it for PC. That gives me greater control over how I play my games as well as more control over my games.
This also doesn't account for the second hand market. That's 38.5% of all NEW sales. Since there is no used digital market, that probably means physical sales still account for over half of all sales.
Isn't pleading the fifth testifying? I feel like the article does a disservice to treat pleading the fifth as not meeting his obligation to testify, but maybe my understanding is incorrect.
I read it once from the beginning (up to wherever it was at that point) and you can actually see the art improve over time, it's actually kinda cool.
That being said someone may have taken over at some point, but there is definitely a natural progression over the first like decade (estimate) of releases.
In most cases the real risk is someone getting access or intercepting the encrypted data. If they have the raw data, there aren't any other protections in place to prevent brute force attacks.
Similarly, that's why groups like the FBI will clone devices (like phones) to bypass brute force protections.
That's a fair call out, you can definitely build cheaper if you're using used parts, my research had been looking at new components (to try to make it a more fair comparison).
Universal healthcare doesn't mean free healthcare. In places like China, which does provide basic insurance, their universal insurance only covers a portion of expenses and the private insurance industry is growing - meaning even more expenses for healthcare access.
I was looking into how cost effective it would be to upgrade/build a new rig - from my research I think you'd struggle to make a new build that runs 4K/60 under $1000. I feel like the steam machine is maybe $100-200 above a similar build, but that ignores things like size/wattage/CEC
No shame in story mode, the combat is definitely harder than skyrim. That being said, I do like that since there isn't level scaling, combat difficulty lets me know if I should actually be picking a fight (like finding an orge in early game and realizing I can barely damage it).
Completely agree on the lore and wyrdness too. It's been a bit refreshing to play something that, while pulling from other fantasy, seems to really build and flesh out its own lore.
Just started playing this and blown away by it. Combat feels better than skyrim, and while it nerfs my "stealth Archer" approach it makes you actually utilize multiple mechanics while fighting.
If you havent tried it, I would suggest "Dread Delusion". It's ps1 like graphics, and definitely has parred down mechanics, but the world building, exploration, missions, and story are really enjoyable.

Yeah, they really started flanderizing everyone in the more recent seasons.
Same with Wonderman. They've included things that were released, but not continued.

I don't know enough about law to have any idea on the merits of that, but it sounds crazy to me.
Even if they was the case though, how can you prove the pardon covers what he's claiming the fifth on regarding his testimony?

A smartphone is still a computer, and emulation on arm (including android) is still an option. Just look at things like https://gamenative.app/

I tried re-watching the tv show some years ago and it didn't hold up too well.
Escape Academy or similar type of escape room/puzzle games might work.
Slay the Spire 2 has a good co-op option. And technically any digital boardgame (ticket to ride for example) would meet your vibes.
Maybe a little more intense, but Rayman Legends/Origins are pretty cozy.
Any of the Lego games would probably work.
Peak has an "easy" setting that just makes it a goofy teamwork based game.

The form factor on that is interesting though.
I still hate that they did that, it's such a stupid plot device.

Once I saw one of the connectors going nowhere I figured it must have been AI generated.
