In "Spider-man: Brand New Day," (2026) Peter Parker gains an amazing new power: the ability to afford this huge loft apartment in New York despite having no apparent job.
It's one from the comics, but also spider-man isn't spider-man if he's famous and a known person. The whole point is that he's the friendly neighborhood spider-man, part of the appeal of that is that he could be anyone. Yeah, we the audience know Peter Parker, but the world doesn't know him and that's a large part of his story's appeal.
But yes, it certainly lowers the stakes when you hit the undo button.
No, you misunderstand. Most superheroes wear masks so they aren't personally identifiable. But most leave some amount of the skin still exposed. You can't imagine wolverine is black or batman latino with their white ass chins poking you in the face.
Maybe he earned a lot more money than we thought in that brief period at the start where he tried to use his powers in the underground fighting circuit.

That's because he's hired for a made up position by his billionaire adopted father.

No, he isn't. Tony is dead, and no one remembers him.

I still hate that they did that, it's such a stupid plot device.

I mean, that's like the core of almost every superhero's story. They almost all wear masks for that very reason.

Tobys spiderman had it right, he rented a space that fit 1 bed and a desk. He shared a bathroom on the floor too. He could barely afford that.

The 2018 Spider-man game starts with Peter getting evicted from a tiny flat, he crashes on the couch in his aunts office at a homeless shelter.

Maybe he's squatting at the apartment of a blind lawyer who disappears for months at a time.

1700sq ft is bigger than most houses I’ve been in.
That’s still fucking crazy expensive.
ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 23d
I own a 2BR house and it's 650 sq. ft.
Macallan@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 23d
That's the 1 br price.
The 2 br is $23,500/mo!
errer@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 23d
Same square footage as my house in southern CA yet somehow 4x more expensive. Wild.

So they could’ve called it Brand New Home.

I mean, he got a pretty good settlement from when aunt May died. Also, he was the protege of Tony Stark so...

Stark probably left him hella money in his will. Or maybe Shield or the Avengers themselves hooked him up.
