devils advocate: to promote their own platform through it and to try to keep it as "open" as it is. In the end, they also profit from people running models locally or on a server, as long as it's their hardware

You're lucky in that case

Having shipped packages commercially myself and managing online shops at work, there's a significant amount of lost and damaged packages here. Especially when uninsured packages are used

And I've experienced it multiple times that people get angry when you basically tell them to pound sand, because they didn't want to pay a little extra

Now you have the option to make a loss and ship it out again or have an angry/sad customer. As well as a significant amount of support ticket work

Or you can just not do that, the shipping is a little more expensive, and everyone is happier in the end
